Default My hatch, and what ive been doing lately

did the rear seat delete a few months ago. holds 2 amps, 1 sub now, and 4 6-1/2" speakers. back panel lifts out to reveal the spare tire.

i made this 100% from scratch by myself. 1/2" MDF board.

put new fender on the driver corner, and cut out the rust on the rear quarter. jb welded a piece of metal to the inside, and im currently shaping it to the stock contour. "not the proper way to do it, but i dont have access to a welder, and i dont have a well paying job.

other than that. 96k miles on stock d15b7. gonna build a turbo d16 for it this summer. drop it 2" on tien adjustable coilovers, and 17" motegi rims.

painting it cobalt blue. no body kits whatsoever.

i have ordered the smoked amber jdm corners, and am getting the diamond cut stock style taillights.

i have 6000k HID's, and factory front and rear fogs.

its a DX, but the cluster is from my old lx sedan before i swapped it to a z6 and used a z6 cluster as well. the speedo is the stock one.

and heres the pics.

Instead of doing this first, why don't you invest in a welder and fix that rust right, or it'll come back to haunt you.

And instead dropping your money on those baller *** wheels and system, you could spend your money else where in the cosmetic department.

Just an idea.

lol, the entire system in my car only cost me $200. and its stuff ive collected over the past 3 years.

id rather get the car looking good, cause i wanna sell it and invest in a 5th gen prelude maybe.

I would be worried the piece of metal would rub against the tire and break off or flex causing cracks in the paint.
Definatly get a fifth generation Prelude though. Wish I had got one instead of the Del Sol I have now. Here's some really nice examples:

the piece of metal can't rub against the tire. its tucked up inside the quarter, not inside the wheel well. and the jb weld is very strong. tried moving it. only moved the entire side of the car. wouldnt flex at all, and i even used a good amount of strength.

dont tell the DOT but ive used JB weld as a temporary fix to fix the shock tower on my truck lol. it lasted 1000 miles with a 460 v8 sitting on top of it, until i had it welded back. its strong stuff.

I know JB Weld has been used for many things, including the water jackets on motors. It's not exactly conventional or "right", but it's not too bad...I guess. At least if you treated the rust correctly, sealed it and used fiberglass it would have been a decent budget repair. Not trying to bash your repair, just trying to guide you a bit.

How do the rims make your car ride? I too would suggest sticking with 14s or 15s, not necessarily because they look more proportional, but they're cheaper, lighter, and absorb more vibrations to give a nicer ride so you can run stiffer springs.
