h22a injector questions
ok i'm taking apart a h22a before i swap it into my car. i took off the injectors and read them out and they are low z injectors. but there is no resistor box installed on the harness. does the computer control these things with out a resistor box? i would think not, being that most low z hondas I've seen stock have the resistor box. they say "keihin japan" on them and they have a green tip and inside it is a pintle not multiple holes. are these stock and should i install a resistor box being that i'm going obd1 with a chipped for h22a p28 ecu.
bthe resistor box plugs into the harness it is not wired directly into the harness. the plug will be on the drivers side part of the harness. the resistor box is bolted to the chassis so it doesnt suprise me that it doesnt come with the motor and harness that you have.
if the motor is going into a prelude then you have a resistor box in the car that your putting the motor into.

let me try to explain a little better. i bought a 97 honda civic with a h22a. i bought the car for parts including the motor. i pulled the harness and motor out myself. then i pulled the harness off the motor. if there was a resistor box installed and unpluged during removal then i would not have been able to read resistance through the harness. but i did and it was 1ohm on ground and power side. plus there was no box installed in the car. i will look again to be sure.
i have one of these boxes install on my 97 civic for low z injectors so i know how they work and get wired in. i will wire it into the harness for this motor as well. i just thought it was odd that this car did not have one and was able to run the injectors.

at the same time you could see on the spark plugs where it idles rich and is lean on top. so it tells me the thing wasn't spot on for anything.
