Default IF I DO THIS SWAP...

ok so im talking to this dude whos got a smashed 94 accord, he says its an F22B2 (i thought it would be B1) with a Vtec swapped head. he offered to sell me the entire engine which has been rebuilt, bored out, has all AEM parts on it (pulleys etc) and only has 100,000 on it ( he smashed the car last year) for 350$. I looked in the FAQ and theres no swap threads that would answer this question for me

if i were to do this swap what else would i have to purchase, im looking to try and get an estimate of the total amount that i would end up spending if i swapped the entire thing and then if i only swapped the head.

so far i figured (and correct me if im wrong)
Swap entire BLOCK and Head;
350$ for the engine
100$ for an ECU
200$ for a timing belt and all the gaskets im going to need
100$ for ignition parts, wires, plugs, etc.

VERSUS just a head Swap;
Head i could prob get off him for 150$
Gaskets 50$
Ignition parts??? 100$
ECU 100$??

please let me kno if im forgetting anything or if i wont need any of those items or am wrong about the price
your help on this would be awesome thanks in advance

Why not save your money, build the head with a Bisimoto cam and upgraded valve train?

Buying a modified motor from some random dude who has a "bored out" F22B2 with a VTEC headswap with just pulleys (which can cause issues).

i actually did a swap thread on f22b2 into 90-93 accord.....as this would actually be a swap into the right gen accord (94-97) theres no need for a swap thread.......but i do agree with muffinman on this puttin a motor in some guy built and crashed over a year ago isnt a good idea...ive seen your car in the other thread....do it right bro dont half *** it at the end....my advice to you if do what muffinman said or buy a jdm motor with low miles and start from there

If you build it right the first time you will spend less money. go with what Themuffinman said.

and i have a non vtec head with 150+ miles on it the main reason why i wanted his head was because it had alot less and was already done up

yea i was reading your thread i just got a lil confused cuz i wasnt exactly sure on what i needed since you had to buy a few other things that i wouldnt have to

and i have only about 450$ to play with so i cant buy a jdm motor with low miles for that price, thats why i wanted to see what it would cost me in both situations

hey muffinman how much do you think it would cost me to build mine up myself? is it worth it with a f22b2? i mean i ve seen what ghostaccord is doing with his f22 but thats way outta my league.. i could probably replace the cam and valve train myself with my cousin but would it run my pockets dry??
