energy ball joint dust boots (clip?)
i'm in the process of overhauling my entire front end and i've put on my energy suspension ball joint dust boots along with brand new ball joints. but i'm curious as to know if there should be any sort of clip at the bottom of the boot like how nearly every other boot is (including OEM). once the knuckle is on the car and the LCA/UCA's are attached, will it hold it in place enough that when the joint moves it won't allow grease to escape?

Throw those things in the trash. Everyone I've heard of who has used them said they don't even hold the grease in. They're pretty much useless.
i was afraid someone would say that. whenever i move the joint, they tend to leave a decent gap. granted, that's without anything really holding the boot on there, i really wouldn't want that to happen while driving.
they actually work if you clean and install them correctly, oh yes and don't crush them. i tore an oem boot last year, put on an energy and have no issues. i think a lot of guys just over do the grease and it winds up being forced out.
