i have searched with no help. i just put in a d16y7 in my 97 cx. when i started it up and let it bleed the coolant was shooting out of the rad and the temp was 3/4 hot. so i put the cap on and the temp went down. tried bleeding it again and it wasnt shooting out anymore so i let it bleed. i noticed that my idle was at about 1500 when it was hot already then the idle started surging.
question is, could the surging be caused by a big air pocket? i have not cleaned the iacv or checked for vacuum leaks properly so please dont mention those. i just want to know if an air pocket could cause this. also why the coolant shot out of the rad while bleeding? i have never seen that before and iv done about 6 swaps.

Also , i do not have any over heating issues with this surging idle.

also only surges when its hot. idles at 1500 from cold till it gets hot and starts to surge. i dont want to touch the idle screw untill i fix the surging.
