ok so i have a 98 civic EX i remounted the stock radio to install a after market one and still be able to use the keyless entry. When i took the radio out to relocate it their was some sort of security box on top of the oe radio with a few swiches for ex lx and some other models. I unpluged the box and the keyless still worked so im wondering if this is some sort of alarm system? im also wondering if i can set the keyless entry to flash lights and have a horn honk when i lock the doors with the key fob?
any help would be great guys I just bought this car so im still learning about the car. thanks in advance.

The stock alarm is mounted in the "notch" at the top of the stock HU, it is made by Alpine but does not have the ability, [no programing] to honk the horn on lock and unlock.

Better bet is to install an aftermarket alarm, [even a basic one is better then the stock one] and use it for the key-less entry, with light flash and siren/horn "chirp".

It would also allow you to remove the relocated stock HU. 94

 

ok there is a box in the notch of the stock head unit. how do i even get it to work? I would like something cause I just dont have the money for a after market one right know. Im saving up for the viper 5901. Its not even programable to to flash the lights when the car is locked or unlocked? thanks guys. I took pics if needed.
