Default Where is the 1998 Honda Accord Main Relay?

Hi, I want to open up the main relay and resolder the joints but first i have to get to it

Which of these is the main relay and how is one suppose to remove it (special tool/tricks?)

this is for the 98 accord ex sedan with a 2.3 L SOHC vtec mfi....what engine and model you have? they most likely are all the same but how bout we make sure

Which one is it? The larger one or one of the two Siemens?

Your picture doesn't show it. It should be by itself, attached to a bracket. You should be able to see the electrical plug connector from the bottom going into the main relay (not like the relays shown in your picture). The main relay should be somewhat larger than the relays shown in your picture.

Why are you changing the main relay? I have the same car (98 4-cly 193k) and have never had problems with the main relay. I have had to change the ignition switch twice though.

Didn't change it, re-soldered some of the suspect joints, like this one:



My car tends not to turn on (as if it would behave when the main relay was disconnected) when the weather gets hot, just a shot in the dark really.

Everyone made this much more confusing than need be. The main relay for this accord is underneath the driver side kick panel in the leftside corner of the "nook." Its a small black or gray box.
Its sorta tight, and hard to get to. Just some patience & small hands are needed.

tpot90, I figured out where it was, the picture you see in the previous post was from my relay but thanks for the extra info
