Icon2 Painting suspension components

I was curious to know what kind of paint would be recommended for painting OEM suspension components?

I picked up some knuckles, rear LCA's with sway bar and end links from a 94 Intgera that grew up in Chicago and the paint has peeled off on most and there is light surface rust. I will be putting them in the media blasting cabinet to strip them down but want to use a good paint.

Also, I am buying some Koni's and would like to lower the profile of the car by painting these black as well, and tips or suggestions?

I wasn't sure if I should post this here or the painting section.

Best regards,

I used POR15 on all my arms in the past. Currently I am having my newest project sandblasted and powdercoated. If you go with the POR15 route, you'll want to use a finishing paint over the POR15 - it's not UV protected. I used a simple semi-gloss black spray.

Brushed on POR15:

Finished with spray:

No problems to report either way - POR15 or powdercoating. If it's a matter of cleaning the powdercoat will be easier to maintain as the finish is smoother and dirt/dust wipes away easier. The downside is the extra cost.

powdercoating will hold up much better plus it is much easier to clean and maintain. If you do paint it, use regular 2 stage car paint with a clear coat.

While I would love to powder coat and I knew this was an option this method does not suit my needs.
