Default Total Noob GC/Koni Yellow Help

ok so im lookin for a new coilover set up for my itr and i was thinking of ordering the gc/koni setup since everyone claims its the best, also because tirerack is having a sale on them. But im a total noob on spring rates. One of my friends told me i have to get the shock exactly matched to the spring rate or it'll blow but tirerack doesn't give you that option another one told me you can run up to 500 with no problems. Can someone fill me in on this and give me some input

On the SP3's 550 lbs is the max spring you can run without losing your warranty. I didn't know tirerack carried ground control.

for a street car you probably want something in the 300-400 range
have you been in cars with stiff suspension, what did you think?
like mentioned above up to 550 is ok, lots of people run 500-550 without damaging the shocks.

I am running Koni/GC 550f/450r on my DA and it feels awesome. Only been driving it for about two weeks. I may be underdampened, but It does not feel like it. On almost full firm it is slightly bouncy when I am on the freeway when I hit a bump or bridge transition doing 65-70. Other than that it feels good, not as stiff as I expected it to be. Thus far I have not been able to lose traction in a turn going as fast as my motor would permit (its stock). So now I need boost...

What do you need help in? If it's picking your spring rates, than that's user preference. You could ask guys what they had ran in the past. I had streetable rates and track rates liked them both. 8k fr 6 krr also 440lbs fr and 500 rr.
