So I thought I'd make this post to share my results of trying this out, and ask a few questions from others who have tried something similar. I managed to find a full OEM AP1 catback exhaust for dirt cheap and figured I'd give it a shot and see what they'd do.

Had to cut it in half to fit it in my Accord. Unfortunately I couldn't use my friends truck at the time. No biggie though.
Anyway, I took it to a local exhaust shop that does good work for my friends and I, and does it cheap. We figured we should just try one muffler first, just to see how it sounds (make sure it doesn't sound ricey or anything). I started it up, gave it a few revs, and... it sounds EXACTLY the same as my stock muffler! So instead of going through the trouble of fitting the s2k muffler on (it was WAY taller than the stock one and hangs a bit too low) I just put the stock back on. Oh well, at least I can sell them for a profit!
This brings me to my next questions:
Who else has done this? I know there are other threads about it (I've looked through a few) but I haven't heard of it being done to a 6th gen like mine and I couldn't find sound clips of it on an Accord.
What does yours sound like? Post up a clip, or just tell us about it. I didn't have the time to take off the resonator and try the s2k muffler, so that's still an unknown. I personally bet it wouldn't sound very good, but I could be dead wrong!
Hell, when we took off the muffler, I started it and gave it a quick rev or two just for giggles and it sounded pretty throaty and not too bad (Although I'm sure it'd be ricey at high rpms). That really surprised me!
Anyone tried adding the s2k resonator? Maybe that would have brought some more life to it?
Please share your experiences!

Did you really expect a stock muffler to produce a better than stock sound on a motor that makes ~100 hp less than the car it came on?
The stock mufflers are twin loop and relatively quiet. A CR muffler is a *touch* louder without rasp due to the difference in the chambers. There's several threads with cracked open comparisons of them.
If you're legitimately looking to make minimal gains and get better sound you'll need to go aftermarket.

you got a F23? just unbolt the muffler, it sounds good with only the factory resonator, then its up to you if you want to just fumigate the RR tire, or get some pipe bent up
or just go for the bolton magnaflow catback
any nice bolton catback is going to run upwards of $300 +/-shipping

just noticed OP you said you did start the car without any muffler, it strangely does sound pretty decent!
ive driven around a lot in city and highway, slow and fast and WOT-VTEC all without the muffler
about the only time it sounds a little bit ricey is WOT in VTEC, but who wants to make vtec quiet anyways lol
with the stock resonator you can throw on probably any old muffla and it would be fine

I definitely didn't expect to pull more power. I realize I'd have to go aftermarket (I would get a WSII like you did, as I think it sounds the best). This thread is merely to discuss my experience and possibly any others. Hopefully this will also prevent anyone who actually DOES think that this will produce gains or major sound from spending ridiculous money on any part of the catback.

Anyway, I know there are others on this site who have put these mufflers on their car. Share what you found out!

Also, I've seen a thread about what you mentioned TheMuffinMan when people have cracked these things open. Here it is for anyone who hasn't already seen it and is interested.

You can see why these mufflers are so damn heavy!

Sorry if I came off as rude as that was not my intention. There is at least one member I know of that has a single S2000 muffler on his Accord - unsure on piping, but it was for looks only if I recall.
$30 for the whole thing should net you a tidy profit haha. So I completely understand the "why not?" scenario.

Ok, that's one other Accord with one on. Would be nice if there were pictures of how he/she mounted it, and with what piping. Even on my 6th gen, the thing barely fit it the spot for the stock muffler. The s2k muffler is pretty dang tall, and the tip was just a bit too far from the bottom of the bumper cover to look acceptable (to me anyway).
Anyone else? I know there are some Civics with them on, but obviously this isn't their forum. Anyone even got any links to sound clips or pictures of others?
It's a 5th Gen on HondaSociety is where I saw it, I'll have to look later and see if I can locate it.
I *believe* it was an AP2 exhaust because they wanted the larger tips

I also found another post related to this topic there. No pics though, and a lot of useless rambling about backpressure... Still, it did have some people who had used the s2k muffler sharing what they found.
