Icon2 New Potential Honda Owner, 1998 Civic advice?

Hello everyone, I'm new to the forum/threads but am in the market for a Honda Civic, one in particular. Was wondering of some of you with experience could give me a little advice?
I've got a guy who is wanting to sell me a 1998 Civic Ex 2 door coupe with 224,000 miles for 2 grand even. The car is a 5-speed and has a salvage title because of front end damage but has been fully repaired. I'm told all the car needs "is a driver in the seat". I have no clue as to the value of these cars and/or if there is a difference in what Kelly Blue Book tells me and what the actual car sells for.
More important beyond that issue is the car going to be reliable, good on gas and can I reasonably expect to get another 5 to 6 years out of the engine and tranny while driving no more than 12-15,000 miles a year.? Any help would be appreciated, along with the "noob" posts which I'm sure will come with this kind of a question.

If it were me, and it was my money I would not buy this car. It has way too many miles on it, and it has been in an accident. If you only have $2000 dollars to spend I would not look for a Honda, since usually the ones you get for that price are in bad shape.

However, there are plenty of other cars you could probably get for the same amount that would have lower miles, and be in better shape, and not have a salvage title. Most of the time they probably won't be Hondas for that price.

Anyways..That seems a bit high, I just picked up a 2000 civic for 1200.
It has 198K on it but is in very good shape so..Anyways, Its a buyers market.
Shop around...or call him in a week or two, If he still has it.Offer less.

Way too much for a car with that sort of damage, history and mileage.
