Default Dizzy Question

I was wondering if i can use an obd2 dizzy in my obd0-obd1 swap.I know its possible to keep an obd2 dizzy when converting down to obd1 but i just don't know if i can skip over. The only reason i want to use it is because i happen to be given one.I understand there are crank signal inputs and such and don't know if i can just exclude them. Any input would be ausome
