KNock sensor delete ?? ECU decision
hey guys wanted to ask you if anyone has got an ecu from http://www.phearable.net/ and what was the experience.. i think they are a seller on here so im sure someone has bought from them/ buddy of mine recommended it
second: my knock sensor broke (buddy broke) when putting in swap and instead of buying new one put one that he had (claimed to work) and long story short doesn't
was thinking about getting a ecu that would delete and knock and maybe add little performance rather than buying new knock sensor ... what and where have you guys gone to get ecu's any recs?
the motor is a b18c obd1
has hondata intake mani gasket
skunk2 mani
custom intake
stock internals
act pro light fly wheel
and everything else is pretty much stock
Thanks

There's a way to simulate a knock sensor, but considering what it does, I wouldn't. I mean, it's there to protect the motor. It's like pulling seat belts out of your car to save an extra pound of weight.
as for point two is there a benefit for removing it??why remove it

First, most people worried about this are running Premium Gas, and these motors/ECUs were tuned for 87 anyways, if you are setting off the knock sensor on a stock motor, you have bigger problems.
Second, as soon as you change something about the dynamics of the motor, chassis or anything that will effect the "frequency" of the car...you essential render your knock sensor useless, even picking up false knock when it isnt really there.
Let me know if I can help you out with anything you might need!

You can safely eliminate the Knock Sensor in any OBD1 Honda Setup in my opinion...
