2000 GSR, wnt start with different stock ecu
Sup fellas.....lemme see if I can explain this. Im posting for my buddy. He has a stock 2000 GSR that when he bought it, had/has p1607 code. We thought that just swapp ecu and it be fine. Well we tried another stock ecu from a buddies car and code is gone but now it wont start. The little green key is blinking on the cluster. It does have a prestige aps920a alarm, everything is stock. I didnt know how to search for this type of problem so decided to post. Any help is greatly apprecieated.

Yes, the 00-01s have an immobilizer in which the key, ignition and ECU all have to be "programmed" together or else the car wont crank. Handy little theft deterant Honda made up to prevent people from jacking your ride.
Hmmmmm....so any sugestions on how to fix? Like I said, it's stock now but he eventually wants to go boosted....what if we put a chipped p28 converted to obd1 wit jumper harness? Would that work?
Car runs and drives fine but my buddy ****. Doesn't like the check engine light on. I told him to just take out the damn bulb! Lmao
he says he gonna swap IM and prolly CAI....and leave it alone till he gets some extra cash to build for boost. Any suggestions????? Thanx

Yea, I put dat n my 1st post...throws a p1607...the immobilizer was removed(according to previous owner) for the remote start. Das another thing I'd like to ask...I tried to jump the lil blue deally by ecu with a paperclip, cel never started to blink. I then spliced into the wires on top of the lil blue deal, jumped them with another peice of wire, still never started to blink......wtf

You get the CEL because the immobilizer has been removed....same thing is a major problem with the ITR ECUs. Sorry, I should have read your first post more throughly.
