WTF? Could you be a little more specific? Are your bushings/ball joints shot? Do you need new shocks? Are you looking to lower or slam? What's your budget?

there is no need to be specific.. ive never really learned about suspension so i need some input on what kind of things do you need to upgrade it

suspension wont keep you from hitting a light pole, thats a driver mod.

What is you budget?

there are so many options, it all comes down to money in the bank.

get neuspeed race springs i used stck shocks, drops the car about 2 inches and keeps the ride stiff but comfortable, no bouncing. I think it would be a good set for lowering and motor swap.

 

Ok first things first. Make sure all of your bushings and balljoints are in good working order on the front end. If they are not, replace your upper and lower control arms. Also check your inner and outer tie rods. Replace them if there is any slop in them or if the boots are torn. Now, get yourself some quality lowering springs like H&R, Eibach, or Neuspeed (depending on what drop you want, they all have different applications, and are quality parts). If you want to be able to raise or lower the car however you like, get some Ground Control coilovers. They are the best bang for the buck, IMO, and you can get custom spring rates.

Next you will need some new shocks. I would recommend getting some Koni Sports. There are other alternatives out there, but like the Ground Controls, these will give you the biggest bang for the buck, especially if you buy them before June 30th (they are on sale everywhere for 25% off right now). The most popular setup you will read about is the Koni/Ground Control setup. If you decide to do that, make sure you order the Ground Control's that work with Koni shocks (they have a special sleeve that fits the Koni's perfectly).

These are the basics. You may want to add some sway bars and rear LCA's, but I would wait and do this other stuff first. Good luck dude. And have fun with it!

 

The generic style Ground Control shocks will work with Koni shocks. You just have to use the lower spring perch and the supplied rubber sleeve and giant O-rings.

I believe that in addition to some slightly stiffer springs and better shocks, a rear swaybar makes a world of difference. It's more tail happy, but you can get used to it.

If your bushings are shot, I'd recommend getting an Energy Suspension or Prothane bushing kit. If you burn the old bushings out and have a vice or something to press the new ones in with, it's not hard. (unfortunately burning is the easiest way to get old bushings out)

 

Umm, no they won't. Ground Control doesn't even sell those adapter rings anymore. Those were for older sets. Now you must buy the Koni specific sleeve that has a smaller diameter than the standard GC's and they have a groove machined into them that captures the Koni circlip perfectly. DO NOT try to use standard GC sleeves with Konis.

 

If you hit a light pole at 90mph maybe you should consider upgrading your brakes.

once yuou verify that bushings, balljoints, and tie-rod ends are in good shape.........coilovers will give you the most change.........but as far as bang for buck, its hard to beat sway bars. they are cheap and give you significant change in handling. tires also make a huge difference.......higher performance tires have stiffer sidewalls that give you more steering response......makes the ride a bit harsher, but thats not something i care about too much.


as far as hitting a pole at 90.............thats called overdriving your car............the best driver in the world cant make a car corner faster than the car is capable of. dont ask your car to do more than its capable of and you wont hit things.......and if you dont know ur cars limits, then dont push it too much until you learn its limits.

 

ok 96hb thank you thats all the **** i asked, i didnt want to know how much it was i really dont care. And yes guys i do know i was a dumbass when i hit that lightpole i was 17 i bought a type-nasty engine, didnt give an f about suspension and tires anddd i payed for it i think i learned my lesson guys thanks for your support. i was thinkin koni yellows for shockk i was probably going to get those ground control coilovers you were talking about koni does make them right?

 

If you hit a light pole at 90mph, it sounds like that's a problem that will fix itself eventually.

Here's my input:
Budget - Koni Red, eibach Sportlines
Midrange - Koni Yellow, Ground Control
High - GOOD coilovers... not sure of brands because I'm not rich. PICs are good, right?

Regardless of what you do, you'll need toe aligned afterwards.

koni doesnt make ground control. ground control uses eibach springs. to use ground control coil sleeves you have to use the koni sleeve with koni shocks.
