Default Transmission fluid

Hey I was just getting everything ready for race season and I decided I would try something different for the transmission fluid. I usually use cheap 10w30*** (not 5w30 made a typo) as suggested. What do you guys use in your stock transmissions? I have a stock SOHC ex tranny from a 2000 civic. Thanks I appreciate the advice!

Thumb'd through some pages and seems people use torco and royal purple fluids. Is there any fluid people use that is easier to find maybe at say walmart?

I have been searching but you can imagine the globs of info I need to sift through. Sometimes people change their opinions over time/experience. That is why I am just checking in. People said the Honda MTF was something to stay away from.

Honda MTF!! Ive tried everything. This is the only one that wont wear out synchros. GM syncromesh is ok as well. But i still find the honda superior!

Went with valveline 10w30 seeing as how it is a stock tranny. Cheap and easy! Once I get a LSD im gunna swap over to torco RTF!

I just bought a used 97 accord/manual tranny. The 5th gear was grinding very noticeably, and the 3rd gear was grinding every now and then. I just changed the tranny fluid with the new Honda MTF, and all I can say is woooowwww. There are now no more grinds in the gears, and it's shifting smoothly. I thought it was going to take a few hundred miles for it to smooth out, but I'm now a honda mtf believer.

It probably had no fluid in it to begin with. Any proper fluid in that situation would make it not grind.
