Should I rebuild my engine?
i just bought a 91 integra with a b18a1
my oil pan gasket came apart and have a major oil leak
i did a cylinde leak down test and i have back pressure
so i was wondering if its better to rebuild my engine; if so what can i buy so i can put some power in this beast or if im better off buy a used motor
any tips on what to do
thank you

your thread title has nothin to do with your post.
if the motor has a billion miles on it and you dont know anything about rebuilding engines they buy used and possibly upgrade to a b16 or b18c

first, dont put a b16 in a da unless you like losing! second was the oil on the bottom of the plug or top? could be valve cover seals
this motor has 124,579 miles on it
i have some knowledge on bluiding motors and so do my co-workers
the oil was on the top of the spark plugs
around how much would it cost to rebulid the motor..im kinda on a budget
the head was rebulit awhile ago so im guessing its still good
when i did the cylinder leak test..there was air coming out of the dip stick
cylinder 1: 10% cylinder 2: 20% Cylinder 3: 20% cylinder 4: 20%

damn you got lots of problems if it was on top too. a place out here does a full rebuild for 450 if you supply internals. 550 if they supply. idk if you have a quality automotive in your area but thats who it is
did you do a compression test with your leak down test? do your compression numbers meet the specs? how many miles? have you tested the head gasket with a head gasket tester tube? (this detects the smallest leaks) are you due for a timing belt? how bout a water pump? rebuilding is my favorite thing to do but i only do it when i need to. and if i have issues with any of the above test results. all my rebuilds get machined blocks, valve jobs with new valve guides and head bolts, machined crank, new pistons, connecting rods, piston rings, bearings, oil pump, water pump, timing belt tensioner, dealer timing belt and head gasket, complete engine gasket and seal set, new injectors, sensors, switches, filters, distributor cap and rotor, and the radiator gets flushed and inspected. all hoses, spark pugs, spark plug wires, and belts also get replaced. its expensive but well worth it in the long run
If you want to rebuild, to get a reliable engine all you mainly need is..
Full gaket Kit, Valve stem seals, Maybe Valve guide not always a must..
new piston rings, rod bearings and thrush washer.. some machine work and of course the general stuff.. water pump.. timing belt etc. minus the machine work probley just about the price of a good(online) B18 $500-$749 (not icld ship)
you could always throw in a B20, reliable decently quick stock and hella fun to drive
