97 auto LS fluctuating idle while driving!
Let me start off by saying thank you guys for any info given to me.
This problem started about 2 days ago, as im driving the idle is @ 3k and it bogs down to 1.5k and doesnt go up until i press on the gas and when it does it has trouble getting passed 2.5k.
Not only that but other times that im driving the rpm's would fluctuate between 2 and 3k wtf!?
It feels as if the throttle cable is getting stuck around 2-3k.
can the tranny have anything to do with this? or injectors?
what would be the best places to start looking into?

well it started getting worse and i cant pass 3k evn when in park. so does this mean my dizzy is going bad? if i change the coil would that fix it?
Does your engine SOUND like its misfiring? If not it could be a clogged fuel filter, fuel line, or Fuel Pressure Regulator. Of course check grounds, and battery voltage. Then go get a timing light and see if your timing is right. If its not that, check your air filter, and then throttle cable. Also check plugs, and then plug wires, all the way to the dizzy. Those are pretty well the main fuel/air related problems, you've probably checked all of this stuff, hope it helps somewhat
It doesnt sound like its misfiring but as im driving it bogs s bad goes from 3k down to 1k FAST! and takes a while to go back up.

it stopped for a while but came back. i changed out fuel rail and injectors. added tranny fluid and still nothing!

what else should i check for, now it bogs sick under semi-full throttle.
what should be the next thing to check.

yes my 94 ls auto used to do the same bogging down until i hit over 3k when i first started it up but after that it was fine and still does from time to time. but i lately put a skunk2 intake manifold on and when i took old injectors out i didnt noticed but i broke one of the pins on the injector and it bogged so bad i didn't know what it was until h.t. told me to check those injectors again and sure enough. not really much help but plan on finding out a simalar problem me and you have.
mine has kind of the same problem i have 1992 honda civic ex D16 it starts up and everything fine but i drive it around and i cant mash on it for anything if i try the rpms bounce and it seems to take its time shifting its automatic idk wtf is wrong with it can aynone of yall help me out?
