Default hesitation while driving

trying to figure out a problem with a new car i bought

1997 hatch
01 gsr swap
240 compression across
new dizzy
new plugs

will run fine for a couple of miles then it feels like its hitting a brick wall and have to apply heavy throttle and it feels like it breaks through the wall and starts pulling great for a couple of seconds

can shut the car off while driving, turn it back on and it will be fine for a couple more miles

has done this for over 200 miles, yet at one point went over 70 miles without a problem untill i stopped then restarted again

all grounds are good
no cel
idles great
if i push in the clutch and free rev, the motor revs great

You check the ignition timing?

ignition timing was synced when the distributor was put on, when it runs good it runs great... when it bogs out its a dog

I shall watch this, my d16z6 is doing this, it just gies out sounds or feels like rev limiter, hope we can get the problem fixed,

I had a 97 accord ex do a similar problem, right at 5200-5500 rpms, vtec, co I just unbolted the vtec solenoid and cleaned it out, it was clogged, I did this to my eg and it still does it. So maybe clean ur vtec solenoid.

Same exact thing happened to me, ended up being the primary 02 sensor was on it's way out. CEL eventually came on.

It would run fine for a few minutes while in open loop, but once it warmed up, that's when the problems started.

That was my problem, of course the cause of yours may be different.
