#2 not firing at idle - burning some oil - motor smooth otherwise
Haven't done a compression check yet, but my car runs rough at idle and I know that #2 isn't firing until I get up to 1200 or so rpms. Is it normal for one cylinder to go before the others?
It still seems to have good power and gas mileage is fine. I've been meaning to do a valve adjustment and replace VCG/etc, because there's some leakage. I am worried about this motor, as car has 230k on it.
Any thoughts?

that is alot of miles on that motor. Are you still driving it with the problems you stated? If so just bcause it runs ok right now does not mean its ok.You are causing more damage by just driving it.I can tell you this you have maybe almost no comp in piston #2 do you over heat? Does it bog out after driving for a short while when you come to a stop say at a light?
No overheating, idles a little rough here and there, but doesn't bog out. Once I have it off the line it feels just fine; nice and smooth.
If I rev it up to 4 or 5 it still feels smooth and pulls strong. Doesn't feel like low compression???
Noticed this today - would this cause excess oil loss and bogging? Notice the big crack on the intake arm.
