Default Question regarding sway bars and strut bars

Ok, so I recently wrecked my car, and when I went to the junk yard I found that the control arms from the gsr were the same as my civic, but they had a sway bar, so I picked up a front sway bar for my car.

Here's where I need some help. I'd like to get a bit of a better ride and the front sway bar is making no difference. I'm thinking if I add a rear sway bar, and maybe a strut bar I could get a bit of a better ride.

I know that in not doing this correctly you can create understeer and oversteer. So do all my sway bars and strut bars need to be the same size?

Any helpful hints in doing this? Please bear in mind, I DO NOT want to spend a small fortune in doing this. I only want it to be a little nicer for DD driving.

Also, if I need to keep them all the same, how large is a stock GSR front sway bar?

sway bars don't really affect the ride quality. They reduce body roll in corners. Adding a front sway bar with no rear sway bar will give more understeer. You should balance it out with a rear bar. Size depends on how much stiffness you want in the rear. A stock sized bar like a 13mm/14mm Si/GSR I believe, will take away most understeer. A larger bar like 22mm Civic Type R will give some oversteer. A larger bar requires a subframe brace such as ASR brace to prevent tear out of the sub frame due to the larger bar. Im running a stock front 22mm bar and Type R 22m rear bar with brace. Its makes the car a little snappy around corners but I like the way it handles. Care must be taken especially in rain because the back will come around under hard cornering or trail braking.
