Hey Guys-
Just wanted to start a post about my FA5's dyno tuning session in case anyone is heading in the same direction as me.
Casey @ Enginetiks did a special session today for me (thanks!) My goals were to have the car a/f tuned for longevity on the track as the car does not see much, if any street use. I am not building a dyno queen or anything, I do alot of HPDEs and want a safe, fun car for that purpose. So far my round 1 of mods are very simple - CT intake, HPS silicon intake tube, CT header and Apex'i WS2 catback. I decided to go with the Hondata FP after much research between that and the Cobb. Seeing as how Casey is a Hondata tuner it made my decision even easier.
After battling some massive heatsoak with the CT intake, we settled on a conservative dyno tune of 196hp and around 130ftlb (i think, didnt get a sheet). This was on a dynojet BTW. Next round of mods will be probably to replace the CT/HPS setup with an AEM cai and a T1R test pipe, will report back in this thread when done. Would be happy to share my tune with anyone who needs it, I'm very happy with the tune - the midrange improvement is night and day.
Any input is welcome, not looking to start a douchy childish bashing thread - would love to keep it technical in nature.
Thanks,
Todd

well if you're going to ditch the test pipe, you might as well invest in a race header. because you're not getting much with the ct header and test pipe (if you get it). yea it might be a little expensive, but with the combination of the aem cai and a good header like the s2rh, bc, or vibrant etc, you're easily going to be in the 210+whp.

I am sort of against the race header as I am in CA and I am getting too old to be crawling around under the car every 2 years to take it out come smog time. I think the T1R test pipe is a good compromise because ill be able to save my cat for smog time, and taking it out is pretty easy.

I agree, your gains are going to minimal without a race header. I'm also in CA, and with my set-up, the exhaust is only slightly louder than stock and as mentioned earilier, smog is only every 5-6 years depending on the year of your car. My mods were only bolt on with great results at churches. Good luck!

I'm not in it for max gains, I fully understand the benefits of a race header but its just not for me.
Ill report back once I get some sort of CAI, and the test pipe on...aiming for another session next month.

Lol your an ***. But yea definatly get a race header and a option is getting a ct header with the random tech hiflowcat downpipe.
Definatly no where the gains but if your scared just so say lol
