Wiring front speakers to head unit powered outputs?
I just recently purchased and installed some Infinity 6022si front speakers. They sound better than the factory, but my subwoofers still overpower them a little (and the subs aren't turned way up). They're currently plugged into the factory harness via an adapter. I'm thinking I need to amp them, but I don't want to buy or install an amp. My head unit has amplified outputs, one set used for my subs and one empty.
What would be the best way of wiring them to these RCA outputs? I was thinking the easiest way would be cutting the front speaker wires from the factory harness behind the head unit in the dash, soldering them to RCA jacks, and plugging it in that way if you can understand what I'm saying.

rca outs are not powered outs normally, they are line level pre outs for amps. they make cool mini amps you could use for the front if you didnt want to run wires everywhere. otherwize generally speaking i had the same trouble but i just got over it and ran all the wires for the rear quarters and both doors to a 4 channel and then re eq to balance it all out.

You saying that your speaker are still having more bass than your sub? Not sure what you meant there? If you don't want bass on your speaker then get a bass blocker..
lol , im getting that the subs amps are running from the power out (wires) coming from the head unit and tru the factory harness to the amps and then to the speakers ?
do your self a favor and run the rca jacks to the amps under the carpet ! that is if im getting you statement right.
also i think im reading that you want to hook up your front speakers to the rca outs of the head unit? is that right ?
if so then you should run a small front amp as i said befor. i think most are misiterp your question

The subs are wired through an amp, to RCA jacks on the head unit. What I'm saying is they are still much louder than the front speakers, and so they overpower them. I am asking the best way to get more power out of the front speakers without buying and installing a separate amp for them. That sounds like a hassle.

Okay. If I do go about buying and installing an amp under the passenger side seat, I have a couple questions. First, how do I wire the speaker wire into the amp? Don't I need to add an RCA jack somehow? If so, how?
Secondly, what's the best way to ruin wire from each door to under the seat? 2000 Civic Sedan EX, by the way.

the wires would run under carpet and behind kick panels thru door jam to speakers unless you wanted to tap into harness going to the door.
I guess I'm leaning towards a separate amp now under the passenger seat. Just wondering the best way to get the wiring from the door to the inside of the car, I can do the rest.

Just use the stock wiring. It's already there, and while it's quite thin, it doesn't need to be thick. Run RCAs from the HU to the amp, and then run speaker wire from the amp to the stock wiring harness.
So what I would do.. is disconnect the stock wiring from the head unit, and connect it to the amp instead? Right in the dash behind the HU?
What you would do is hook up the Head Unit harness to the stock harness BUT do not hook up the speaker wiring. Instead, run speaker wire from your amp straight to the stock harness's speaker wires.
Does that clear it up?
Does that clear it up?
