Factory head unit amp install...
2003 Ford F-150
Installing an aftermarket amplifier, using a line level converter to hook up the RCA's to the factory head unit...
According to the instructions that came with the converter, you hook up the wires to one of each the left and right channel speaker wiring from the factory head unit.
I did that, and still no signal. The amp is getting power, and all settings are dialed in, such as gain, output mode, channel output and such.
RCA's are connected correctly... but still no signal. Any ideas?
I hooked up the converter according to the instructions, to each of the + and - leads for the left front and right front wires.
Any suggestions?

How did you make your adjustments properly when you had no audio???
Anyways.. Are there adjustment pots on the converter? Are they turned up?
Are you sure you tapped the right wires?

I had set the settings on the amp to their "optimum" settings when I had it in my old car, and have not touched them.
There are gain controls on the converter, and they were in the middle of the dial
And I tapped the wires, according to the converter's instructions, and the wiring diagram for the truck.

sounds like you're tapping into the RF and LF speakers at the radio?
you need to tap into those speaker wires after the factory amp you have.
if the amp is for a sub, then you only need to get the signal from one channel (either LR or RR speaker)
hope this helps...
