Default jdm b16 and need an exhaust

ok so i have a crx..it came with a stock jdm b16. its obo. with a j1 tranny..i have a 4-1 header on it and an intake.
the exhaust that was on the car was 2 1/4 piping catback. which the cat rusted and fell apart so im running open headers right now.
also sense i have a header would 2.5" piping better better? or should i stick with a 2"-2.25" sense im not going to run a cat?

i didnt for see this comming so i dont have much money to fix my exhaust. i called and they said it will be 100 for all new piping and to weld the muffler on.
my question is..what size piping should i get. i dont have enough money for a new cat so i was thinking putting a resonator in to quiet it down a bit if that will help.

just kind of confused on what to do..and need some help..id greatly appreciate it!
