Default not sure witch swap to go with!!! a lil help please

hi i wanna swap either gsr or a b20 vtec into my crx but im not sure witch to go with! both would be all motor! i kno the b20 vtec wold be fatser but imnot sure how much it would cost to build it! if your running a gsr all motor or a b20vtec all motor how much did you spend?

Depends on how you build it to begin with. If you want a good platform, with the most potential to build on in the future, that will make lots of power, the B20 is the way to go.

It also depends on the upfront cost of each motor/parts.

Thanks for the reply's guys i really want a b20 vtec Ive read alot of good things about it! If built right but I'm a have like 2500 to spend on the build an I'm not sure if that's gonna cover everything I know how much the b20z block cost an I'm not sure if I wanna use a gsr head or a b16 yet witch would make more power?

depends what you do with the pistons, cams, intake and exhaust as well as tune.

well i have 2500 just to build a motor!!! so thats the block,head,cams,pistons an tranny an im hopin all the smaller stuff! as for i/h/e i have extra money for that an how much will it cost to tune it!!!

damn i knew i would!!! i think im just gonna go wit a all motor gsr! what are the best things i couls have done to make a good all motor gsr????

higher compression (11-12), PnP, Valve Job, bore it, good set of aggressive yet streetable cams, springs, retainers, tuneable ecu, IM, forged pistons.....maybe rods, bigger injectors(dont wanna run lean), balance the bottom end, run it to 8k.

Thanks for the info! I really want a b20 but I can get a full gsr swap right now for about 1500 so I will be able to add. On as I go!

Are you doing all the work yourself? B/c otherwise there will be money into the install as well as the cost of the motor, plus mounts, harness, etc. I bet you'll spend $2000+ just getting the motor in and running.

yeah im doing the work myself and thats not bad i got 2500 just for the swap and another 2500 for parts like cams,pistons,header,intake,exhaust,an a few other things! so i think im a go wit the gsr!!! thanks for all the info guys
