Something that I always notice and makes a big visual impact for me is when the side skirts are not faded grey and the window trim and wiper arms are not flaking. Those are very easy things to fix with trim spray paint and they make a HUGE difference on the look of the car, to me.
Installed blue neon tubes under the dash, ran them to a toggle. It's a nice effect at night, gentle floor lighting, pretty cool and cheap. Installed tweeters too, makes a huge difference in your sounds. Blue covers over your reverse lightbulbs. Stripping off the Civic and trim level badging on the trunk cleans it up nicely.
Correctly adjusting the brake shoes will make the brake pedal feel MUCH more firm. I hate a spongy brake pedal. Very common problem.

clean interior is the biggest little thing imo. i hate driving my car when its dirty on the inside. other things are the clock upgrade, shift **** (got rid of my eg **** for gsr), better seats (looking for black cloth integra's myself), fully functioning cluster, good speakers.
decent paint and no rust
lol
no but seriously, keeping it clean makes a big difference. inside and out. in fact i just bought some trim paint the other day to repaint a few things lol
