I know i'll have to pull out the head from the block for this but, is it possible to check valve guide clearance without taking the head all aparts?
I think you have to atleast take the valvesprings out.
I think there is an oem method of opening the valve to .XXX valve lift and measuring the "wobble"... .010" seems to stick in my head for some reason...Have to check the helms manual to be sure.

actually it's for my exhaust valve stem/valve guide clearance... It says that you have to open the valve 10mm and then check valve stem clearance vs valve guide... then 0.22 is the service limit for old valve stem/valve guide and 0.11 with a new valve...
But to create the gap for to check clearance, what exactly need to be done?
