this is kind of a broad question because a 60 car with a nasty cam, ungodly compression can be considered a street car because of looser emmissions restrictions.

back when nhra was running SFWD, technically the cars were to be tagged and registered. mine was when i ran in 06. i chose not to renew my tag because of all the ******* theives around my house. plus i dont like driving a caged car.

i could sandbag my car and drive it on the street, it is still complete in the interior, but don t htis it is worth it.

so i guess a street car is one that you can legally drive on the street.
interior? do what you will. im not srtipping mine out anyway.

Front glass, working lights, seats, gauge cluster, steering wheel, and street tires.... legal or not I don't care, its that persons decision if they want the deal with the cops in their area. I also don't think fuel, compression, transmission etc. matters.

Big difference IMO between a daily driver and a "street car" that drives to and from the races.

If it's driven on the the street it's a street car. If it's only driven on the track it's a race car.

We drive to lunch with one piece front ends, fiberglass doors, and lexan on 27" MT Drag Radials.

if you are going to put "heat" on your list, then you might as well put AC, PS,CC too!! (Because these are all comforts).

All a "street car" needs is to be registered, insured, run on pump gas and have all working lights!!

I agree as long as it has an interior as well, and that includes rear side panels.

BTW E85 is in my opinion "pump gas"

lulz, well street car is a car that can be registered and tagged and drivin at least 2 times a week. int isnt needed, but i say at least a passenger seat and door panels, but we have all seen civics gutted driven everyday that run 14s... so meh.

A DD is a car you drive EVERY DAY, aka daily, and you put real miles on the car(none of that moving it around the driveway and ****)

when my car was registered and insured. I drove it on pump at about 450whp range. Got about 30mpg out of boost. Had all the comforts aside from AC due to fitment of manifold and turbo.. No back seats but had everythinggg else. (it was useless in the lower gears when i was on the gas on a street tire, but it was very streetable)

Even took a few trips to Atlantic City with the wife, had a nice LOL watching the valet guy try to park the thing with a twindisc.

I dont care is someone wants to drive every day on q16, completely gutted with a 10point cage, and slicks. If they drive it on the street it is a street car to me. Maybe i think that way because florida has no emissions and we can do whatever we want really.

This is all matter of opinion, but the fact is a "street car" is anything with a plate/insurance and driven on the street until the cops tells you otherwise. I think all of this pump gas, radio, p/s, ac, heater **** is nonsense, like I said originally.... there is a big difference between "street car" and dd.

when i got pulled over in my "street car" by 2 helicopters & 5 cars a few years ago, the cop asked me what it was doing & driving, I told him i just got off work & took my race car for a nice drive. After 20 minute investigation on my car they found nothing "illegal".

got a warning about my license plate light being out & was sent on my way.

full cage harnesses, windows stuck up , doors gutted & no exhaust on race gas. & drove all over south FL, thats my version of a street car. & luved doing it.

was it a street car? proabaly not being the windows didint work but who cares i could drive any where in south FL without a support car & not overheat. so yeah its a street car. allot of gas station sell race gas down here.
