Here is my retrofit project for EG Fog lights using the Lexus IS300 or ES300 yellow projector lens housing.

 

what back end did you use to fit hid's into these fog lights?

 

you can get low profile HID bulbs that fit the backend of the reflector housing, but some HID bubls wont fit inside the enclusoure, in that case do not use the enclusre.

instead seal up the two holes visible on the reflector with the same windows silicon mentioned in the DIY. Install the HID bulb, to make it water/weather proof, use heating dock tape (chrome) form home depot to cover the back of reflector housing and the bulb

 

just curious, how many people have done this mod?

Also, what bulb did you use for the Denji high beams? I bought some yellow ones, but they aren't as rich in color as yours.

 

i used Mercedes Benz yellow capsule that can be found on many 80's-90's models, they are not the high beam but the city lights. my high beams are wired to the FX bi-xenon projectors.

i got few of these capsules with holder, you can have a pair for 25 shipped.

 

Its kew bro, I'm broke right now. I actually have the yellow capsules from the Legends, although it's too big to fit inside the headlight. I'll hit you back up if I get a chance to buy it from ya.

How does it help with visibility?? EG fog lights suck *****.

 

one thing they are better then oem fogs, and with HID installed in them they do have a good output as they are projectors with a good cutoff line.

 

So theres no glare with HID's in these fogs?? I find HIDs in fogs really stupid but if you have a projector then FUGG YEAH!

Just so Im reading this right this is just to replace the lenses for the fog lights. If I want HID bulbs I need to do that seperatly correct? What bulbs/ballists would I need? Are the Lexus fogs HID to start with and do they have the proper cutoff on the lens so you dont blind others? Very good write up. Thanks for the info.
