I got Buddy Club valves/springs/retainers for real cheap.

My builder is holding a set of Skunk2 pro2 cams----I have not payed for them yet.

Should I change the cams to BC 4's?

or do you think the Skunk2 pro2 cams and Buddy Club valvetrain will be OK together?

Has anyone had a catastrophic failure from a mismatched valvetrain like I'm about to run?

I'm no technical expert but I would think they will be fine, dont they have the same lift of IN/12.3mm and EX/11.8 and the duration and ramps are similar too?

I have Rocket Motorsport M22x cams fitted with a supertech valvetrain and no issues :-)
rocket used to actually recomend them.

Skunk2 will design their valve springs to be optimal with their cams but also they recommend using THEIR valve springs and retainers with their cams for marketing purposes aswell.

 

You need to make sure the retainers do not contact the valve stem seals at full lift and that the springs have at least 69 lbs of seat pressure.
