Looking at trading my 93 del sol si H23 for a 92 civic cx with a gsr, you guys see anything inherently wrong with this deal on my side? Is this a good deal for me? anything I should be looking for in his civic? The del sol is only my second honda, so I'm still pretty new to the game, lol. I don't know ANYTHING about the GSR motor, no idea what it even comes out of.

Yea there is a the tech side for issues like this but in my opinion I would jump on it, I am just not a big fan of the del sol though so it is kind of buyist.

 

I know there are tech sections, but I was wanting more personal responses from local "friends" more than faceless people spouting numbers and facts about both cars. I HATE my del sol, and want a hatch BAD, did the cx come with power options or disc rears?

 

The cx was the BOTTOM of the chain Honda... NO rear disc only SI models came with rear disc... NO POWER OPTIONS and no AC or PS

 

thats why you swap the motor and make them fast...
If that car has paint i say trade.

Well he has about the same condition car as mine, I just dont want to lose rear disc, power windows and my cool targa top for something I could build for 1500 is all.

 

personal i like back seats and love the look of the eg hatchs. its up to you compare the likes and dislikes and see what you like better. But if the eg has any kind of paint and not primmed like yours i would trade.

 

EG Hatch with gsr > POS H23 in Del Sol...

No offence bro... But Ive had an H23 and its slow... Very SlOw... Test drive the hatch if you like it, get it... Also, Please take both cars to a reputible mechanic so no one gets screwed... And you live in Tyler... There are PLENTY of knowledgable people that can help you... Me being one.

 

His will need to be painted, plus it has a bad dent in the rear QP Mine has no body damage at all, also I have been working on mine a lot lately. The trunk has been sanded down and repainted and the OEM wing has as well and has been reinstalled. The body kit has been sold and I have a stock rear bumper and a new OEM front in the mail.

Yeah.....I just paid almost 100 just to get my VC powdercoated and to get all non shiny stainless nuts, hell I spent over 10 bucks on the nuts alone, lol. I love my new red wrinkle VC and the NGK wires are so much nicer than those damn accell wires that were on it when I bought it! Here are the pics from when I bought it:

 

Oh, and it didn't have a battery in it, that was my optima I had to bring to get it home, lol.

 

He hasn't said anything about either, but unless it runs 100% I won't be interested unless there's cash on top. I have put a lot of money into this car getting it to run right to trade it off for one that doesn't, lol. Paint doesn't bother me too much though, I used to do a lot of body work and don't mind little bits here and there.

 

The sol needs alot of work. Unless you are good
friends with a painter then I
say trade. Qp damage is never good but man neither one is a good start. I use to roll
like that for a long time and it was I really
couldn't afford paint and all the crap but damn I have seen some pretty clean rides on here for around 5k get that money together and start off
with one of those and you will be way better off. I promise

 

Family friend owns a paint and body shop, all I have to do is buy the paint and I can use their facilities. I have my own gun so I'm good

 

Painted more today and new bumper came in today!!!

WHAT?!? Those are genuine flebay mugen knockoffs!!! Dude, those things were like 25 shipped from JAPAN!!! Like so much BS on this car, they came with it. If I had the money I would go buy a nice set of takata's right now sigh..... Firts though I have to get a harness bar, THEN new belts. Whats the best way to anchor these things since you brought it up?
