aftermarket wrist pins quick question
ok so I recently got my oem ls wrist pins pressed out on me oem connecting rods with a hydraulic press.... I'm reusing the connecting rods and was wondering if I had to repress the new wrist pins that came with my new pistons with a press as well.
What type of pistons did you order? Did you order pistons that use press fit pins or floating pins? If your new pistons have floating pins. You will have to bore (re-size) and insert a bushing in the PE bore of the con. rod. If you ordered press fit then yes you will require a hydraulic press to mount them to the rods.
Not sure what engine your talking here but I looked into getting my stock press fit F22 rods done a few years back. There wasn't a machine shop or engine builder in town that would do it. Mainly due to reliability issues after resizing the bore.

I believe I have press in pins, but from what I hear when you get the oem pins pressed out from connecting rods to pistons you can damage the actual piston. So I was wondering, wouldn't they be damaged as well if you get them pressed in as well?
Only if they are not done properly would there be a chance of that. You have to realize that they are called press fit for a reason. They have to be press fit onto the rods. A good engine shop should have a rod oven and a freezer for the pins. A properly sized pin driver and piston base head. If they are set up there should be no problems.
