Default recs for oil pan gasket?

i rebuilt my car a lil more then about a year ago and my oil pan gasket already gave out so im seeing if theres any other gaskets out there that will work for the long run instead of just replacing them every year or so. i do have a fully built b18c1 and i used an aftemaket gasket so im just trying to see how everyone elses experiences on this.

Well I'm sure there are lots of gaskets out there to be used but they all pretty much do the same thing. I would recommend going to Auto Zone or some other type of auto parts store in that area since they usually will have an answer for your questions and can lead you in the right direction to get a good quality gasket and such.

Personally with all the engines I've worked on, I pretty much have just used regular o'll gaskets and they seem to work just fine. When I install gaskets, I just go to every bolt while switching to a different bolt while I tighten them ( usually I'll do one crank for a certain bolt before changing to a different bolt to assure that the gasket gets full contact with the block ) but there is also a certain type of glue type product that better seals your gasket. It is best to allow your new gaskets to break in as well. Just do some regular driving to allow everything to heat up to better seal it. But ya, thats pretty much what I do and I haven't had any serious problems. All gaskets will leak from time to time but its not a big deal at all.

Is this a regular problem with your gaskets breaking??? Maybe there is a spot on your block, or your oil pan may have a spot on it where it pinches the gasket resulting in a break.....

For something like the oil pan any parts store gasket is fine, For anything vital stick with OEM.

Don't tighten it too much and use hondabond/ultragrey on both sides. Guaranteed not to leak.
