Default M&H v.s MICKY T 24.5x8.5x13,,,, 24.5x9x13 expirence

Helo guys i been doing some reseach on both the M and H slicks 24.5x8.5x13 vs the MT 24.5x9x13. people seem to have mixed feelings on which is a better tire. Past 3 years i been using a MT 24x8x15 ""1.8 60fts all the time sux" there cooked now and time to up grade with a 13x8 wheel and a tire with more meat. anyone that exprenced with the two please give me some feedback on which choice to make. i like the fact that the MT has a .5 side side wall bigger over the MH. But heres the catch i can get,,,,,, 2 brand new MH 24.5x8.5x13 at my door steps for $360 I can get 2 MT's 24.5x9x13 at my door steps for $407

im not looking to buy used. and not being cheap just want the best bang for my buck and good results i want the 1.6 60fts!!!! thanks all

i have used both tires the MT 24.5x9x13 and the MH 25x8.7x13 as well as their 24.5x9.5x13.

They have all been equal in initial performance for me. Always store them inside out of cold weather and moisture.

I had both MH and MT at those sizes and the M&H seemed like a much better slick.

looked to be softer and had alot more meat on it..

I havent ran the new M&H yet, thats just what I can see so far..

I cut 1.6 60" with my 24.5x7-13s. How much pressure did you run in your slicks???

i have used the m and h 24.5x8.5x15. worked well, but needed 13's.

used the 25x8.7x13 worked well, but i was always hazing the tires, and had to know for myself if the mt 24.5x9x13 worked better or not. i have better short times and et with the mt.

BUT, based soley on customer service, John From M and H, is the frikin man.
always there for us and helps us out alot. since i opted for the wheels i did, i cant for the 9.5x 13 but sooner or later i will try that tire also.

we use the same tire and have good results, but im very curious about the MH 24.5x9.5x13 that Aaron is using cuz he seems to be having some great results with them too. i choose the MH over the MT cuz we had some issues with the MT sideways almost being too soft and thin. we ran both 24.5 by MT and MH last season and we preferred the MH thats why we stuck with MH when we went up a size. you should be happy with either the 25x8.7 or the 24.5x9.5 from MH here is the 24.5x9.5 M&H Racemaster 24.5x9.5x13

lol any slick that you have used for 3 years must be done...
I have used both 24.5's and 25's and they both are great and have run similar et's either way take care of the slicks and dont expect to get 3 years out of the next set. I used to get 3 races out of a set lol....

on my old 15'' all they saw was about 20 25 passes in the 3 years just test and tune, they went from a 140whp 1st year, then 260whp 2nd year, last year 400whp. i did a lil work on my suspen and from what other say a 13'' slick has more meat and grabs better so hopefully my 60s can be cut .2 my old 15'' mt are just going to go on my daily they still got a lil left in them.

thats cool, but it and there is nothing wrong with using older slicks. The main thing is over time and exposure to things like ozone the rubber just is not as sticky as when new. They still will hook better than a street tire and be easier with out wheel hop, but they wont give you the same grip. If you are trying to get a high hp car down the track you can start chasing the setup with old tires.. Thats all but everyones setup is different and what wiorks for you might not work for some one else....

My slicks are 6 years old and still cut 1.51 60'. Here's the vid of my pass on the same slicks since 04. Car weigh 2380 w/o me in it. This pass was on 23 psi of boost. Slicks are stored outside the shed and no cover, no prep to it whatsoever. M&H FTW

you are just plain lucky and must be a good track. Most of the time the chemicals will just get hard and not support the power up top

SGMP is the best track I've seen so far. And you could be right though, as I keep increasing the boost up and it just spins up top.
