I origionally had a problem with a Blox throttle body sticking. Could never get it resolved so i bought a new BDL throttle body. After i put it on the sticking went away but i have a new problem. The idle is higher, 1200 rpm, was 1000 rpm prior. and when i hold the gas at 3000 rpm it stays for a sec then drops to 800 then back to 3000 then down to 800, and so on. But if i hold it at 4000 it stays just fine. checked for vacume leaks all around. tried new gaskets, nothing helped, so i tried using hondbond with no gasket and same result. Did voltage checks on IACV and it checked out fine. Any advice?

PS- this is a B18C fully built Turbo race car, no a/c power steering ect.

 

Have you tried adjusting the idle adjustment screw?

 

no matter how i adjust the idle screw my idle does not change. Sorry forgot to mention that.

 

Hmmm... Are you running a chipped ECU?

Perhaps there is a way to change the idle settings through that...

 

ive got the same problem kinda except for it idles at 3000 no matter what i have no vacuum hooked up once so ever so i know thats causing it BUT it wasnt idling at 3000 before it was idling normal around 850 with a slight bounce to 1000 so im trying to figure out what went wrong.

 

I've got a similar issue too. 94 B18B in a 97 cx with a d16y8si harness and a obd2 ecu. Idles fine but if you hold it at 1500-3000 it cuts in and out. I'll post again after I get it fixed to see it helps you.

 

check the codes on the ecu. it has to be trowing some cel codes.

soounds like vacuum lines, iacv, and tps sensor.... all three, not one or the other.

 

you still have an FITV?

or check your throttle cable adjustment and see if its open farther letting more air in.
