First of all, this is all in good fun to bring out these great cars that have been in the works or that have been completed the past couple years.

I know there are at least 5 Honda ProFWD cars that were getting built or are done in the West side of the country since 2007. Plus we have several Hot Rod cars already out there. We don't really have full competitive classes to bring these out for full race seasons, but it doesnt mean we can't do something to at least have these guys enjoy racing these cars and for us spectators to enjoy seeing them race.

Irran Jolly and I have been discussing for the past year how we can bring out the ProFWD Civic. Its was completed since the month NHRA shut down and all the false hopes of different race series catering to these type of cars have just led to dissapointments. So I guess we're just looking to have some fun and asking all the other Pro guys if theyre down to set something up to look forward to later in the year.

No whining about payouts because if thats all you built your car for, then youre an idiot. No whining about not having sponsors to help you race, because we're down to race regardless if anyone will help us or not. Its not about breaking records here. Its about having fun and seeing old friends and race cars go down the track again. If you can't race because of economic reasons, its understandable and no one is holding that against you. This is for the guys that are ready and really wanting to race. Lets not let these cars collect another few years of dust. Even if its for 1 race this year, lets all get together and make something happen.

I really dont think tight rules would work. I also dont think I have the right to give the actual say on what rules should be since I'm not the one with the actual car thats racing. I'm just putting up the idea and would like to help make it come true.

This is a partial list of who I know on the top of my head that can possibly race, but I dont know the actual status of the cars at the moment. (If the guys that I list dont want to be mentioned, let me know. I just want to push you guys to go out there)

there's a bunch of others I know but I cant seem to remember the names right now. LOL.

I know some HR cars come out for 1 or 2 events a year. If there was a day or goal to shoot for, it would help drive certain racers to come out and plan for a specific date.
I'm not trying to hold an event here. Just trying to start the dialogue if these guys are interested so we can start talking and asking to see which event we can hold it in.

For the West Coast or guys that follow nostalgia racing, they have the March Meet in Bakersfield that racers all over the nation look forward to. They dont all meet the new class standards of today but there is a place for all those race cars to race. Its such a huge event that old school racers plan just that 1 day to race out of the whole year.

 

Have it set up at CMI Sacramento. Last March race since we had no official class, we just ran our cars for fun and testing. It was all the Bay Area Hot Rod and Pro All Motor Cars just having fun testing all day.
