Default Road Race / Track set ups

What brands do most owners use as far as Engine, Suspension, and Brakes?

I want to start researching, and get an idea where to start. Thanks

Time Attack included.

Engine: Honda
suspension: too many options
brakes: just get better pads and fluid

Depends on how competitive you want to be, what your "budget" is, and how track-dedicated the car is. If it's ballstothewallsout track car, you're paying for the absolute best instead of marginally better.

try searching on here or the other s2k forum for the serious roadracing cars and see what products they have. good luck

Are coilovers alone a solution to better handling? Do they knock the balance of the car off at all?

the idea of "balance" depends on the driver, certain people prefer certain setups. so yes, a specific coilover can knock off the balance for a certain driver....

and no, coilovers alone are not the solution to better handling

I think the car needs to be faster in the straights, What all motor S2000 is gonna keep up with some boosted car on 30PSI that can handle just as good.

That's why there are different classes according to the car's modifications. Not every driver wants to drive a car that's "stupid" charged.

In Redline Time Attack if you don't have a cat, you get bumped to modified class. You need power there.

Why do people hate on people who want a boosted car for road racing? Thats why I have a turbo boosting 20PSI, Superchargers just cant make enough power...

What classes are you considering running and what type of budget? The questions is just way to vague.

In Redline Time Attack, Street Tire Class. Not sure which TT class it would translate to.

"stupid charged" somebody is jealous!!! What makes a S2000 with forced induction any less of a S2000?

I have a boosted s2k and will be road racing it.

As far as setup the best you can do is Seat Time!
And from there you slowly upgrade your weak points for your own driving skills/habits to better your lap times.

its all up to u what u want out of the car. the first thing i would do is coilovers, r-comps, alignment set for grip and corner balance, depending of how much time ur going to spend on the track for each session u need higher heat rated pads with dot4 fluid and some ss brake lines. then maybe get some gears in the diff and a rollbar(not cusco streetbling). One u max all that out then starting worrying about power.

Shut up, please. That comment has obviously gone over some of the heads in here.
