The tranny on a 2003 Accord (Auto, 4-cyl) on a friend's Honda just failed.
I am aware of the problems with the tranny issue. I was wondering if replacing with a 2004/2005 tranny is possible to avoid the repeat of the same problem.

(By the way, the car is overseas, so the issue of warranty doesn't come into place)

the I4 autos were not known to be problematic, only the V6

although 04-05 should work fine, the design is also the same and there is no improvement in reliability..
