haha + and - from the amp both go to the sub. + from the battery goes to + input on amp, - goes from negative output on amp to closest metal on chassis. Any metal will work on the body, just get it down to bare metal and keep the wire as short as possible
I also assume, [and hope] you mean ground the amp.
As mentioned, keep it as short as possible and use any bolt/stud that goes into the cars floor pan, rear seat and seat belt bolts/studs work the best.
Use proper size ring terminal, stud size, [hole in terminal] should be the same as stud or bolt used, one that is bigger will cut down on contact area.
Make sure ring terminal is in contact with the floor pan, placing the seat belt mounting bracket between the floor pan and the ring terminal will work, but not a good as if the ring terminal is between the bracket and the floor pan.
I do not agree that "any metal will work", let me rephrase, work properly, the best place is the cars floor pan, it is a single piece of sheet metal from just behind the rear seat to most of the way up the fire wall if not all the way. 94

i have always used the bolt that holds the bottom section of the rear seat in place. and like everyone else said. as short as possible, same guage wire as your power and scrape or wire brush paint off to bare metal.
On an amplifier
+ is not positive
- is not negative
Instead they represent the phase of the signal.

I have a 90 hatch and grounded my amp underneath the cover where the tail lights are. There was a hole on mine where a bolt and screw fit and worked great. Make sure all the contacts are good and cleaned and you should be alright.
