gas fumes inside my car can't find any leaks!
so, after doing my rear disc brake conversion this gas smell has been seeping into the cabin somehow. most likely under the rear seat or the trunk. its a 97 civic ex. after some research i checked my lines thought it might be the big round gaskets for the fuel pump and the fuel sending unit but, after replacing both gaskets i still have the same problem. i have checked my lines for leaks but have found nothing. no visible leaks on the lines or tank any ideas? and for sure its coming from the back checked my engine compartment already no gas fumes there. any ideas would help o and a code 91 came up for the CEL looked that up too fuel tank pressure sensor obviously detects low pressure because there's a damn fumes leak. !
Could be an exhaust leak somewhere further up the line... I had that prob for a while. New donut gasket after the header and some new pipes fixed it!
Yeah. Well it was an idea. Oh and not to beat a dead horse, but if you have no cat it will still smell like fresh gas! Now on to another idea. Check the tube from the filler neck for cracks and make sure it is securely in the tank.
Edit: Maybe you already checked that.... not sure then what else it may be

yea i have a cat on the car. the tube from the filler neck is fine i checked the hose that runs to the tank, it seems the more gas i have in the tank the more the gas fumes escape my guess is its gotta be near the top of the tank somewhere.

Ummm do you have ac? If so there could be something wrong with the ac and smell gas in the cabin. This happened to my moms car and I couldn't figure out why but someone should know. She just took it to a mechanic.
someone drilled a hole to mount an AMP in the trunk and the screw went through the chassis and to the gas tank problem solved, hole in gas tank.. . .
