What you are saying is , you give it gas and rpms goes up when your are in first gear but car does NOT move. correct ?

Sounds like the transmission is not engaging with the motor.

So sounds like clutch.Pressure plate or hydraulic problems.

Start by checking your fluids, if they are full, get a buddy to see if when you are pressing the clutch pedal he can visually see something happening by the slave cylender.

Or might be as simple as your clutch is worn/broken.

Watch the clutch slave cylinder while someone presses the clutch and see how much it moves, if at all.

Well the tach would still work if the car isn't moving, but apexi has a point about the speedo. Your speedometer moves when the car doesn't?

If the speedo is working I would assume your tranny took a dump. Sounds like the output craped out. because for the speedo to work (which runs of the tranny gearing) your motor would have to be turning the input gears. Unless of course you snapped the half shafts or stripped the output splines...

If your Speedo is moving but your car isnt, then your diff or output shaft in the tranny went. Thats all there is to it.,

Edit: I just read that the OP fixed their problem. So you were saying that only 1 Axle was out?
