Default stock b18b1 rev

I want to know how high can you rev a stock b18b1 with a chipped ecu without blowing your motor?

Depends on condition that its in.

But 7000 rpm probably the highest I would go ( well highets I went when I had a b18b ).

It really doesnt make more power past that ,so no point going higher .

( in case you have cams, and springs ) then probably will make more power up top, add some arp rob bolts and probably can rev it to your power peak

Untouched b18b= about 7500 max.
lsVtec b18b= about 8200.
The weak point is the head and rod bolts on a ls. Swap the head with a vtec head and put rod bolts in it and you have an engine that will go to 9000 (with valve train that will handle it). Remeber not to get drawn into the thrill of rpm.If you aren't still making power..... why hold it out.

Whoever is chipping your' ecu should be able to set a rev limiter for you at a safe point for a internally stock ls-vtec your doing. If you want to rev anywhere past the stock limiter then you should think about building the engine. It would be pointless revving so high seeing as how you aren't getting any power that high as someone already said.

Two great responses IMO. There's no point in revving a stock LS past redline because it doesn't make power up there with stock Cams. Some people I know with a stock D16Z6 go all the way to the 7200RPM Redline or a bit beyond and its just pointless. A stock D16Z6 signs off right around 6800. That's where I always shifted my D16Z6 because what was the point of hanging it out another 400-600RPMs when it wasn't making any power and fell on its face.
