91 Accord S-light on but No codes
Here is a different one.
The S-light on my 91 Accord Ex (Auto) goes on out of the blue. I check for codes and it throws none. Out of ideas I pull the neg terminal on the battery to erase the comp and the light goes away and the car runs fine. Over the next few weeks the same senerio continues. The only way to drive the car is to pull the neg terminal after that its good till I shut the car off and it sits for a while. Another thing weird out of all this is twice while sitting in the car with the engine running I will hear what sounds like a switch being turned on and off rapidly in the gear select shifter, after that the S-light comes on and I have to pull the neg terminal.
Mind you after the terminal is pulled I can run the car til the cows come home, it runs and drive fine and the S-light never comes on.
ANy ideas? Because I'm clueless
Thanks in advance.

Possible bad transmission control unit (TCU) or burnt resistors and/or leaking capacitors in TCU. See link:

Thank you redbull that was a pretty help link. It sure does appear the symptoms I have fall under the bad TCU. Guess I should look into a used TCU. I wonder how long I can go with this till a replacement part can be found? Can't tell if the TCU will just stop working all together and leave me hanging or if I'll just have to keep resetting it till a replacement comes... its my only vehicle at this time.
Nonetheless, that link appreciated, thanks

You might be able to go pretty long with resetting. I would take out the TCU and open it up to see if there is damage inside, as shown in the link. You might be able to repair it yourself or bring it to a radio or electronic repair shop to repair for cheap.
Yeah, I was thinking the same thing after I reviewed the link. I'm not much of a solderer but I'm sure I could find a local radio repair shop and save a little $$$. Thanks
