civic wont rev past 4k, help
ik theres probably a topic on this but not like mine.
engine wont rev past 4k
91 civic si with b18b1
only mods are intake abd exhaust
drives fine but doesnt wana go past 4k, fuel psi at 60 which is concerning
just did the swap
new dizzy, cap, rotor, wires, plugs, thermostat, coolant temp sensor
everything runs good besides wen going out to drive it, researched that i can be in limp mode???
i smell lots of fuel out of exhaust, cylinder 3 has too much gas.
was told it could be the thermostat housing ground, it has two holes to mount it and its on the thermortat one, not housing to it. all other grounds are good,
if anyone could help it would be greatly apreciated, dumped too much money into this thing to keep putting it in.

it was throwing all the intake senor codes at one point, but currently it threw a 6, but my coolant temp sensor is brand new and came unpluged wen running so that will take a while to clear, and now a new one poped up, 10 which is my iat sensor, wat i mean by it only revs up to 4k, i mean it revs up to 4k without bogging, it will bog if i floor it. fuel psi at 60, something is causing it to run too rich. my map is fine works just great!

Im having a similar problem with my 92 civic with a d15b, car did the same thing when I had a different engine in it as well. still cant find out what is wrong. I could use some advise!!
the TPS and MAP sensor plugs could be backwards since they have the same type of plug and its real easy to mix them.
have you tried checking that?
have you tried checking that?
They are not switched up, i know that for sure! i cleaned my fuel rail and put back my aem fpr on, still cant adjust fuel pressure down to 43, still 60, and you can smell the gas coming out of tail pipe, did get fuel to come out my return line but i think my timing is off, had a backfire come out of my intake, read up on it and found out if that happens, your intake valves arent closed all the way wen the compression and spark go causing fuel to come into intake, so i still dnt know wats going on with fuel pressure, cant figure it out! gona try to fix my timing tomorow.
found a exhaust leak from my o2 sensor on header, would that cause it to read wrong and tell it to throw more fuel in it? i have ran them with and without them working and never had a major problem like this
Check for power, ground of all injectors. My Crx injector wasn't plugged all the way and it caused this problem.
Use noids lights for injectors or use testlight and ground the light and touch one side of the terminal and it should light up with key on. Then put testlight clamp on power from battery and touch the other terminal and have someone crank engine. Light flashes you got injector pulse so nothing wrong with that injector being tested.
map sensor could be a cause but again backprobe and check for proper voltage when throttle open WOT or closed throttle. Make sure it has it's 5v reference on it's signal wire.
Test a good working ECU and see if that fix your problem.
And why is your fuel pressure so high? Did you accidently plug up a fuel vaccum line? or the Fuel return line?

the fuel injector plugs are on there but idk if they are touching good, three out of four clips got broken or lost.
ever since i got the car it ran 60 psi, fuel return line to firewall is clear now, aem fpr and stock fpr wont adjust fuel pressure. stock injectors, i do believe it does have one step up upgraded fuel pump, not 100 percent sure, my buddy who is a mechanic is actually gona try and figure out wats going on with it.
my map is working properly, ik that for a fact.
and we will try another ecu today.
thanks for the tips, those sound lagit!

did some work on the car, tps is good, coolant temp sensor is good, timing is good, tried a different ecu, new spark plugs, and my map
still doing same thing, boggs wen you floor it and it smokes a lot, whitish but normal smoke, not burning coolant or oil!
fuel pressure wont budge!
dizzy is brand new but may be bad, going to try a different one tonight, any other ideas wat it could be?
thanks

found my problem, main problem was that there was 60 psi at the fuel filter, but was only 15-20 going through injectors, there are two rings on the line that goes to rail, on one was on so it was blocking the flow, but now cylinder three on my new ls is burning a **** ton of oil, i hate it wen people lie to u about an engine thats supposovly good!
