How do you get more headroom in a S.I.?
I own a Integra Type R and my wife is looking into selling her '03 Accord and getting a new 4-door Honda Civic S.I. The problem is that I'm 6'1" and very tall in the torso and have no headroom in this vehicle. All S.I.'s seem to come with sunroofs which lower the headliner a bit compared to a non-sunroof Civic. Any ideas on how to get more headroom or should I just wait and hope that the non-sunroof R will make its way to our shores one of these days?
i am 6'7'' and fit like a sardine, but fit none the less.
have you tried the lever on the left side of the drivers seat which lowers the seat vertically? crank that sucker all the way down!

Sure have and I still don't have enough headroom. I can recline the seat to a certain degree but the angle is kind of uncomfortable for driving. We've test driven a couple '08s and one '09 and I'll adjust that lever so the seat is in the lowest position possible, but still could use another inch and a half more above the top of my scalp.
i feel you..... maybe the isn't the right car for you then.
as far as the R goes, they've been saying it for years. we have come to the conclusion that unless you import it yourself, it aint gonna happen for a long time..

did you know that the seat can go up and down? the front lever adjusts the height of the seat. i'm 6'5 and i fit with a couple inches of headroom. but u can either take the headliner out, or make it a permanent convertible if you know what i mean hahahaha
Thanks for the input... like I said I'm just rather tall in the torso and I've tried three Si's and put the seat all the way down but to no avail. My 2001 Integra Type R gives me about a 1/2" to spare without the sunroof; maybe I'll have to look elsewhere for a four door for our growing family.

Buy yourself a racing seat, haha.
But seriously, they're much lower to the ground, have less padding, but with less padding comes less height.
Prolly not worth it for a daily driver, but at least you could get away with it in an Si, your wife might not appreciate it though, ha.

I honestly don't understand how you can't fit...lol. I'm 6'1" and fit with plenty of room. If your torso is so freakishly long, you'd need to move the seat all of the way forward to reach the pedals...lol.
im not too familiar with the seat rails you have, but you can likely cut an inch or 2 off and have it welded back together. If youre looking for a daily driver, i think youre gonna find racing seats to be a pain in the ***....literally.
