Default Post your bov mounted intecooler

I was recently tossing the idea around of mounting my bov on my intercooler for my bmw turbo project.I tried searching this forum but didnt really find anything as far as pics. So, I was hoping that you guys could post your pics or others pics of the blow off valve mounted on the intercooler.
Also,are there any down falls/advantages of running the bov on the ic instead on the charge pipe?
Plz help me out as I need to make a decision soon.

Any reason you dont want to mount the BOV closer to the throttle body?

If worse comes to worse I will do it that way but ,I'd like to put it on the I/C this way I dont have to see any of those vacuum lines. I wanna keep it as clean as possible.

What as always been said is.FRom what i seen. is that the BOV is suppose to be mounted on the hotside of the intercooler. therefore letting the hot air out

there are 2 schools of though on this.

1= close to tb-
let the air out at the restriction.
2= after turbo (on the intercooler)
let the air out at the source

in my exp i havent seen anything detrimental either way. there may be a lttle difference in spool time 1 way vs the other, but ihave no data to back it up.

i have built 2 twin turbo shelbys, and we put the bov, on the vortech water to air intercooler. actually thats the better place to put it due to space constraints.

with that said, here is my car with the full race back door, and the bov mounted on the end tank:

Good info guys. I seen a pic of a companies car/or a car they built (not sure) called go-autoworks. They had the bov mounted on the hot side of the intercooler and I thought to myself, thats weird! I have never seed it done that way before. I always thought it would be mounted on the cold side. I guess theres no real differance on what side the pressure is release right?

Well I went to TD autowerke today and picked up a tial q bov. When I got home and tried to mount it but realized that there wasnt enough room on my front mount for the bov.So it looke like ill be putting the bov on the charge pipe. So much for that idea!!
