is it going to affect him this year? he seems to be on a tear. can he carry it?

 

Medlen wasn't tuning on cars anymore, I'm sure that's where his heart is. So he made the move to be a crew chief again.

 

This decision was made last week. It just got announced on TV yesterday because it's the first telecast since Phoenix. John wants to be involved in tuning cars again, instead of just being the team manager. It won't affect JFR at all with that braintrust he's got over there.
The Eric Medlen Project will still continue to be run out of JFR. This is an amicable parting of the ways, with no bad blood at all. All parties agreed that it was a good 16 years, and he wanted to try something else. What better a place to go than a team with unlimited resources (again) and established, experienced drivers (again)?

 

im glad it was a "good" split. considering their long great history. im not a JFR fan, or a this team fan, i love the sport as a whole. and want to continue to see it run. if that makes sense.

 

There was a report on competition plus almost 2 weeks ago about this rumor. Guess it's not a rumor, and it looks like it's already paid off for DSR and Matt Hagan's FC. Number 1 qualifier.

JFR will be fine. Having Neff back tuning is where he's belonged from day one. It's showing.

 

wierd thing was matt hagan said he didnt know till yesterday morning when john showed up in his pits.

 

isnt it amazing how left out the drivers are? haha

I just find it weird that I knew about it 2 weeks ago, but the driver of the team didn't know about it until he got to the track. Or at least he said he didn't. I'm not blaming him at all, I just don't buy for a second that he didn't know prior.

 

i saw this saturday on the qualifying show! i was just speechless! its sad to see him go to another team! with the eric medlin project still going on and he was the back bone to all of that! good luck to john medlin where ever he is!

 

I heard from a good source that both Johns were locked up in a fight so hard the whole shop had to tear them apart. They always make it sound like all is cool on TV though of course.

 

^^That's not a shocker at all. What we see is NEVER the actual truth. And I don't blame them for keeping that stuff out of the media and such.

 

yeahand you could see andhear it in Johns interviews from the Gator Nationals. Making up the typical story of Nuttin but love for tha man crap.
