95 odyssey engine swap question
Hello, I am new to owning a honda, and just starting to figure out the block numbers/etc. so forgive me for my noobie-ness if these questions are self-explanatory.
I have a 1995 odyssey I just picked up, and I was looking into swapping the engine for one of these under 30k engines from japan, What I am wondering is, The engine I have is a f22b6, and one of the engines I am looking at is a F22b V-tech, which I think would make it a f22b2 right? anyways, I would like to verify, Will that engine bolt up to the tranny? Will it have the same wiring harness/work with the odyssey's computer?
Also lastly, Is there any disadvantage to using a v-tech engine out of an accord on an odyssey van? There is more wind resistance on this rig and it is a bit heavier, but I am curious to know if anyone has had any experience with this..
Thanks

Nothing is really wrong with the motor, it just has alot of miles on it.. and it is starting to tap. Since its over 200k, and I can find a low mile engine pulled on ebay for around $350 I was thinking of just swapping it.. and the vtech is not much more expensive, so I am just trying to figure out if it is worthwhile or not.. Easiest bet of course would be to stay with the same engine (which I probably will) but I am curious to know how difficult it is to change it out to a diff style..

30K huh, dont believe it, not for that price, that is way too cheap for a low milage engine. I see this all the time, companies selling all their engines with low milage. Here in Japan, low milage cars are being bought up by all kinds of foreiners which is driving the price up big time. The motor needs to come with the instrument cluster if they want to prove the milage, not just say that all their motors have an average of 30K, maybe an average, but yours just so happens to have 100,000 on the clock. This has been happening for years.

You can easily swap in the H22/H23 motor, it uses the mounts from a 98 odyssey, and will bolt up to your stock trans. You just need to get the header off a 96 prelude, swap in the ecu and wire it to your odyssey harness.
