need helping, non starting ls hatch
ok so heres the rundown. have a 1990 std civic hatch and put a 1991 B18A1 in it. did all the mpfi wiring and now im just stuck. it wont start and i swear i have checked everything. it has spark, has fuel, not throwing any codes. the weird thing is i have got it started before but it ran pretty rough. i drove it but it cut out and missed a lot so i went back to work on it. i tried setting the timing and im sure its dead on today, but still no start. when it did run it ran worse when it warmed up if that helps. now it just wont start so im looking for suggestions
firing order is correct, all grouds are clean and tight, and no check engine light. if it helps here is my dizzy wiring:
dizzy side--harness side
tan/blue--orange/blue
white/blue--white/blue
yellow/green--thick white
white--orange
blue--C1
blue'yellow--C2

could you maybe post a video?Like is it heistating when it tries to start or what sort of sound is it make?Do you have an injector resistor box hooked up right?Main relay good?Best of luck man
it sounds like its just cranking over and every once in awhile it tries to fire off. resistor box is good and hooked up correctyl, main real is new
is your timing off? and have you tried spraying some carb clean/brakeleen into the tb? you could be getting fuel, but too much fuel. check your fuel pressure regulator.
i tried to start it while my dad sprayed some engine starting fluid in the tb and still no luck so im pretty sure im getting fuel. and about my spark, it looks more yellow than a blue spark so im guessing thats a weak spark
ok i will try another coil cuz i have a spare few and the battery is new. but do you guys think it could be flooded? how do i test fuel pressure?
well i just went outside and my oil does smell like guess so im guessing its flooded. do you guys think i will need a new fpr? and i got a new rotor but it was a cheapo :/ im thinking i should get an oem one
Just change your oil, take the plugs out, a new set woulden't hurt, put a cap full of oil down each cylinder and reinstall plugs. More than likely its not the regulator.
ok so went to try and re-set the timing and i have a problem. so when i got to slip the timing belt on the cams they always spin when i put a little tension on the belt to slip it on. so i can never get the belt on without it spinning and being a tooth or so off. any suggestions to hold the cams in place?
